Naomi Lewin
Naomi Lewin served as an announcer at WQXR in New York for six years, after cutting her radio teeth at WGUC in Cincinnati, Ohio and WKYU Bowling Green, Kentucky. At WGUC, Naomi began writing, hosting, and producing the award-winning, weekly feature Classics for Kids, which airs on radio stations across the country.
For national broadcast, she has produced feature stories and full-length music programs, as well as scores of intermission features for the Metropolitan Opera. She also spent time as an essayist for NPR’s Weekend Edition Sunday.
Before going into radio, Naomi was a singer and actress. She holds both a B.A. and Master of Music from Yale, and also studied voice at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz, Germany. Fluent in German, French, and Spanish, she has a nodding acquaintance with Italian and Russian, and can say “I am a reporter for National Public Radio” in Chinese.
