Nearly every day as far back as her earliest studies, American violinist Hilary Hahn has been practicing or performing one movement of the Bach sonatas and partitas for solo violin. These works were the focus of her first album which came out when she was 17. Now twenty years later, she is completing her recordings of solo Bach with the release of Hilary Hahn Plays Bach, this week’s featured album.
And this week Rachel talks with Dr. Zanaida Robles, a conductor, singer and composer based in southern California. She’s conducting workshops and a performance with the Choir School of St. Peter’s in Charlotte. She talks about the importance of sharing great music with children, her involvement with the Messiah Project in Los Angeles which brings Handel’s masterpiece to the homeless, as well as her favorite breakfast recipe.
