Baroque from Around the World
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, February 17, 2019 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
The Four Nations ensemble, based in Hudson, NY, brings together soloists from several generations of period instrument and vocal performance. They take their name from the French institution known as The College of Four Nations established by Louis the XIV and Mazarin as a centralized bureau for the arts. They’ve recently released an album called Concise Dictionary of Music which explores music by baroque composers in Germany, France, and Italy which we’ll sample.
And Rachel will talk with food writer and chef Sheri Castle about her latest cookbook, Instantly Southern: 85 Southern Favorites for Your Pressure Cooker, Multicooker, and InstantPot. Sheri explains how this new appliance can really change the way we cook.
