This week we listen to some tracks from a new recording by Heartland Baroque, an early music ensemble with strong ties to the Charlotte region. Its members either live here or visit often to perform. The new album is called "The Benevolent Monarch: Music of the 17th Century House of Habsburg" and features selections by composers from across Europe who are not household names today but who made significant contributions to musical culture in their time.
