Piano Donation Program

Turn your old or unwanted piano into the great classical programming you love by giving it a second life. WDAV has partnered with Steinway Piano Gallery of the Carolinas to offer this unique way to support the musical mission of Classical Public Radio. This program works similarly to our long-standing vehicle donation effort – listeners and friends of WDAV who have a piano* that they no longer need or want can donate the instrument to WDAV to help us continue bringing our community the great masterpieces of the ages!

To begin, please fill out the Piano Donation Program information form.

Donation Program Guidelines

1. WDAV is partnering with Steinway Piano Gallery, Carolinas to offer this program.

2. Steinway staff have complete discretion on accepting any potential donated instrument. Here are a few guidelines:

        • We are unable to accept any spinet pianos (less than 40” high) and most uprights built prior to 1970

        • At this time we cannot accept antique/specialty pianos or electronic pianos of any type

        • Grand Pianos more than 40 years old may require special evaluation by Steinway staff

3. Any piano accepted into this program will be picked up – at no cost to the donor – through arrangements made with Steinway Piano Galleries.

4. Any piano accepted in the program will receive a “fair market value” determination for the donor’s records from Steinway Piano Gallery.

5. Each donor will also receive a “gift in kind” acknowledgment letter from WDAV for their records.
