Well-Equipped Period Toiletries Drive
Partner with us for this year’s Well-Equipped Period toiletries drive from February 1 – February 29, 2020!
This is a one-month drive dedicated to restoring dignity to disadvantaged people in our region by providing them with access to free undergarments and period products.
Right here in the greater Charlotte area, there are many people who must choose to forgo basic, essential hygiene products for financial reasons. Lack of menstrual hygiene products and clean underwear is a human health issue.
Whether we’re hosting a free concert or a hygiene product drive, WDAV exists to serve this community. With the help of our listeners, we know we can do our part to make this incredible region an even better place to live, work, play, and enjoy the music.
This year, WDAV’s Well-Equipped Period drive is partnering with nine different resource centers, schools, shelters, and pantries that provide services for those who are:
- Survivors of domestic violence
- Homeless
- Displaced
- Survivors of human trafficking
- Living in poverty for any reason
The goals of this drive are to:
- Prevent infection and illness
- Preserve dignity
- Provide freedom to work and play comfortably
- Prevent embarrassment
- Enable people to ascribe appropriate value to their bodies and their health
