89.9 WDAV Claims the #1 Audience Share of Any Classical Music Public Radio Station
September 2, 2016 | DAVIDSON & CHARLOTTE, NC – Classical Public Radio 89.9 WDAV announced today that for the first time in its history its audience share topped all classical music public radio stations in the country. WDAV earned an average quarter-hour (AQH) share of 3.6 with People 6+ during the August 2016 PPM (portable people meter) survey conducted by Nielsen Media Research. This is the highest share the station has earned in its 38 year history, and the highest market share of any classical music public radio station in the survey. WDAV’s audience has increased dramatically over the past 12 months. In August 2016, an average of 6,000 people tuned to WDAV each quarter hour, more than double the August 2015 AQH of 2,600 listeners. (Nielsen: P6+, M-Su 6a-12m)
