Federal Funding For Public Broadcasting

For the first time in 5 years, federal funding for public broadcasting was included in a funding measure approved by the House Appropriations Committee and later confirmed in the Senate. This was only possible because listeners made their voices heard and expressed to policy-makers that their local public radio stations have a significant affect on their community and daily life. Please continue to tell your lawmakers that public media funding matters so that our station can continue to serve the community.

What You Can Do

Visit the Protect My Public Media page for a list of ways to take a stand for the local stations and programs you love – it’s as easy as 1-2-3.

1. Write a letter to Congress
Send your Members of Congress a letter to let them know how important funding for public broadcasting and local television programming is.

2. Tell your story
Submit audio, video or text about why local stations and programs are important to you.

3. Share with Friends
Share the Protect My Public Media campaign with your friends, family, and community. Help spread the word!
