Yo-Yo Ma has spent a lifetime with the music of J.S. Bach. When he was just three years old, his father started teaching him Bach measure by measure. And when he started recording for CBS/Sony Classical more than three decades ago, he revisited Bach’s music many times for his albums. Now Sony Classical has issued a compilation of some of his best Bach recordings over the years – everything from the Wachet Auf to the Goldberg Variations Aria. We’ll take a listen this week.
And Rachel talks with author Thomas Head about his book Greens, A Savor the South Cookbook, which explores one of the most important staples of Southern cooking.
