Adorn Yourself & My Soul with Gladness
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, October 17, 2021 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
This week tune in for Bach's Cantata BWV 180 "Adorn yourself, my soul with gladness." Bach wrote this to be used in Leipzig church services on the 20th Sunday after Trinity in the Liturgical calendar. It dates from 1724. We'll also hear recordings made by a 22-year-old Michala Petri back in 1980 and legendary French cellist Paul Tortelier in 1963. His album of Bach cello sonatas from that year is considered one of the best.
