For more than twenty years, the Sphinx Organization has been dedicated to the development of young African-American and LatinX musicians. The annual Sphinx Competition recognizes rising young classical musicians of color, and the Sphinx Virtuosi is a chamber orchestra that features recent contestants. Afa Dworkin, the group’s artistic director, talks about the ensemble's performance in Watson Hall at UNC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC.
