Since 1993, Poland's acclaimed Arte dei Suonatori (The Art of the Players) has been exploring a wide range of styles and forms of 17th and 18th century music in an historically informed manner. They have more than 700 compositions in their repertoire, and they've released a number of award winning albums. Over the years, they have collaborated with notable soloists such as Rachel Podger who is featured on their second release, Vivaldi: La Stravaganza (2003). We sample this album devoted to the twelve violin concertos from this famous opus on this week's program.
