Bach’s music, even after 350 odd years, still lends itself to all kinds of instrumentation and interpretation. Nonesuch Records has just released an album of Bach works performed by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, mandolinist Chris Thile, and bassist Edgar Meyer. These three virtuosos are cross-genre artists with diverse musical experiences. But in the music of Bach, their unique trio shines. This recording shows why they are some of the most accomplished and interesting musicians working today. Tune in this week when we sample several tracks.
