Celebrating Bach!
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, March 21, 2021 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
Johann Sebastian Bach was born 336 years ago on March 21, 1685. Music has not been the same since. As musicologist Nicolas Slonimsky wrote, Bach is the "supreme arbiter and lawgiver of music," which has kept him as relevant as ever to artists working in all genres.
This week we'll celebrate the great composer with a number of favorites including the Brandenburg Concerto No. 1, the Orchestral Suite No. 4, and several selections from the Mass in B Minor, one of his most significant masterpieces. Happy birthday Johann!
