Fasch: Quartets and Concertos
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, November 19, 2017 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
When you think of German baroque composers, the first name to come to mind is NOT that of Johann Friederich Fasch. Even though he’s not revered the way Bach, Handel and Telemann are today, his music is still widely respected and performed in our own time.
This week we’ll explore its merits when we feature an album of Fasch quartets and concertos from the Edinburgh based group, Ensemble Marsyas released in 2014 on Linn Records. And Rachel chats with Peter Reinhart, Chef on Assignment at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, about Thanksgiving baking.
