On Palm Sunday we’ll explore several selections appropriate for the day and for Holy Week. A few things on the playlist: excerpts from Bach’s St. John and St. Matthew Passions; Allegri’s “Miserere”— the manuscript of which was closely guarded by the Sistine Chapel for decades; and Bach’s Cantata BWV 182 “Welcome, King of Heaven.”
Scott Allen Jarrett, artistic director of Charlotte Bach Akademie, will join us to talk about Bach’s music for Palm Sunday, and we’ll chat with author Damon Lee Fowler about his book, “Ham”.
