Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, May 15, 2022 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
This week we hear Bach's Cantata BWV 108: "It is Expedient for You that I Go Away" which was written for the fourth Sunday after Easter and premiered in Leipzig on April 29, 1725. We'll also be treated to selections by a few English composers like William Boyce and John Browne. Browne's music is found in the 15th century Eton College Chapel Choirbook. And there're selections from Bach's The Musical Offering, fugues and canons based on a theme by Frederick The Great.
