Mother’s Day
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, May 9, 2021 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
For Mother's Day, we listen to performances and compositions by women and mothers. We also hear some music Bach wrote for his wife, Anna Magdelena, who bore thirteen of his twenty children. And I Solisti Veneti, with conductor Claudio Scimone, are in the spotlight this week. Baroque specialists Scimone and I Solisti were among the first to focus on early music, and they have made more than 350 recordings in their more than 60 years together. We sample a few of them.
