This week marks the first Sunday after Epiphany in the Western Christian calendar. Just as he did for almost every Sunday in the liturgical year, Bach composed a cantata for the occasion, Cantata BWV 124: "I will not let go of my Jesus." We'll hear it in its entirety this week as well as music from the court of Louis XIV of France and a sonata by Isabella Leonarda, a nun from Novara, who wrote numerous compositions during her life in the convent.
