Rediscovered Baroque
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, May 30, 2021 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
This week we hear a few of the many recordings made by La Grande Écurie et la Chambre du Roy, one of France's premiere early music ensembles. Founded in 1966 by Jean-Claude Malgoire, the ensemble is known for having rediscovered, performed, and recorded many previously unknown Baroque compositions. Malgoire, one of the few conductors known for exploring repertoire from the 11th to the 20th centuries, passed away in 2018 at age 77.
