Sinfonie Napolitane
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, March 31, 2019 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
In the 18th century, Naples was an important music center in Europe teeming with music institutions and composers, many of whom wrote works that bridged the baroque and classical eras. Even Leopold Mozart made sure his son Wolfgang had a sojourn there to learn from the old masters. This week we’ll explore the symphonies of some of these composers by sampling a 2008 album called Sinfonie Napolitane.
And Rachel chats with Karen Sullivan, founder of the Global Table Culinary Walking Tour that returns to Charlotte East, and showcases international restaurants, markets, and bakeries in that part of the city.
