The Academy for Ancient Music Berlin
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, July 5, 2020 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
This week we explore some recordings from one of the world's great chamber orchestras, The Academy for Ancient Music Berlin. Founded in East Berlin in 1982, they now give approximately 100 concerts a year around the world. They have won numerous prestigious prizes including the Grammy Award, Diapason d'Or, and the Gramophone Award.
We'll also talk with Amie Newsome, manager of the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market. She'll tell us how the market has adapted to meet coronavirus safety requirements in order to keep as many fresh, local foods available to customers as possible.
