The Well-tempered Clavier
Program: Biscuits & Bach
Aired: Sunday, February 9, 2020 @ 7:00 am
Hosted by Rachel Stewart
Pianist-conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy recently announced his immediate retirement from pubic performance at age 82. Most of his recordings over the years have focused on the Romantic and Classical eras, but in 2005, he made a rare foray into Bach with a recording of The Well-tempered Clavier. This week we'll hear a selection of tracks from that 2-cd set.
And Rachel will talk with Katy and Joe Kindred, owners of Kindred Restaurant in Davidson and Hello, Sailor in Cornelius. They'll chat about the artistry of being an award-winning chef and about making biscuits.
