Catalan conductor and viol player Jordi Savall has been one of the leaders in the field of early music performance for over four decades. He is an expert in early Western music and has contributed to renewed interest in the viol family of instruments. Two early music ensembles founded by Savall, Hesperion XX and The Concert of Nations, have made numerous recordings over the years. This week we'll check out some memorable albums by both ensembles.
